I started playing Nioh again. I didn't get the game mechanics before so I thought I just sucked at it — well, I do too, but that's not quite the point here — and in the meantime it teaches quite an interesting level.
Basically, it's a fucking difficult game but when you die, you retry with everything you accumulated the last time, and you keep doing it until you're either strong enough to succeed or you work out a better strategy and circumvent the biggest issue.
It might be strange to find a metaphor for life in a game where you can hack an enemy's head clean off their shoulders in a satisfying arc, but hey, take it where you can find it I guess.
Not that I'm going to start publishing again, oh no. That's one thing I don't need to keep failing at to figure out when it's time to just stop — and anyway, I think there's more than a few people that'd happily murder me if I tried again — but it might help with getting my arse back writing again. Who knows.
