If I ever want to reveal my age* then I can just talk about the days when Commodore 64 games used to take an hour to load.
I've just seen someone complain about a C64 game taking 17 whole minutes to load. JFC, you can thank Jeff Minter of Llamasoft for that, according to my mother. Back when I was a wee sprog, I remember C64 games taking up to an hour to load, because they were loading from a tape into the internal memory — one person put it at ~5 seconds per single count on the tape, maybe more. And if you were lucky, after that hour the game'd be ready to play. If you were unlucky the game'd have corrupted in loading and you had to start again.
Jeff Minter of Llamasoft, famous for the Mutant Camel games and who lived at home with his mum, worked on the fast loader system, which meant games might only(!) take 30 minutes or less to load.
Interestingly, Jeff Minter's still going now and games load a damn sight quicker now than they did then...
Not that my Amiga emulator would agree, given it's decided to take forever to load Flashback... I know it's accurate as to game loading times, but I'm not swapping four disks out of drive DF0 now, am I?**
* I reveal my age on a regular basis. It's no great spoiler.
** I've got so many shiny new advanced games to play... and yet I'm playing an emulated game released back when I was 7 or so. Funny ol' world, ain't it? I was playing one released when I was 1 not that long ago.
